One more year has pass

Another year has gone… and I am one year older. Sigh. There are so many more things that I want to do before I reach 30s. So many things I need to finish up and so many place to travel. I wonder if I am able to fulfill most of them.

Anyway, thank you for the birthday present and also wishes. I have receive a lomo camera (very striking and cute ), balloons, chocolates and Tim Tams. Thank you. Now I need to find a pouch for the camera.

I didn't manage to get the balloon's photo because it kinda "drop" from the air before I can take a good shot of it...

Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie + Yuri Cup Cakes

The phase “live to eat” is something luxury in my opinion. It is when you have the option to choose whether to eat or not and most of the time it is something like comfort eating. Sometimes, I do implement this kind of lifestyle living when I can afford. Most of the time, it is the early of the month. That is the time when I am so call “RICH” for the moment.

When I am on the “RICH” mode, I will try to get someone to explore with me to try some new food. Last month, I went to try a bakery shop, Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie (that my other online friends have recommended) for breakfast. The review of the food was good that it intrigue me and my friend to try it out.

The Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie is another nice place for tea if you have nothing to do and no where to go on weekend. It has a classy looking bakery, atmosphere and the food there are good. I have yet to try having lunch there but the breakfast is fine. Their menu are mainly bread, buns, pastries but they have cakes & a few types of pasta. I think they have different set of menu for different days.

My breakfast was expensive and it is over my budget because I bought some other things along with it.. Ha ha ha ha. I had the breakfast set, a hot chocolate, a truffle chocolate cake and 3 macaroons. The breakfast and chocolates are good but I still don’t know who people fancy the macaroons… They are just too sweet. It took me almost 3 weeks to finish it…

Not long ago, my friend came back from Singapore to introduce her BF (LOL) and we bought her cupcakes with octopus and fish as the theme (as she is so Sotong). I don’t think they can do squid, so octopus is the replacement. I manage to get one cupcakes for my photo.

Pizza, Tokyo Street and Cupcakes

It was supposed to be a window shopping weekend for me but it ended up with an expensive, bloated and happy weekend (except for the pocket)… It all started with “SOMEONE” gave my friend the wrong information and we end up changing the plan last min… Well, since we are so “adaptable” we did manage to grab and explore some new place…

1. Yellow Cab Pizza.

After found out that we got cheated, we wander around aimlessly for a while thinking what to do next... until I got the urge to go eat pizza and suggest that we go Yellow Cab Pizza. Since both of use haven’t really ate a pizza for quite a long time, we began our journey there It was after lunch hour when we reach Lot 10 and the place was empty... we had the whole place to ourselves (expect for a stranded bird). We had a Manhattan Meat Lover Pizza since I miss MEAT a lot. It was good and delicious. Amazingly, I felt full. I know I don’t get full when I eat pizza... This was the one time I am full...

2. Tokyo Street

After eating, we decide to walk off those fats, in the streets of Bukit Bintang. At first, I didn’t expect to see anything in Pavilion (since it is always out of my budget.). However, I was wrong. There is a section on the top floor Pavilion… Tokyo Streets is OPEN!!!! It is a small section full with Japan related stuff like Daiso, mocha and so on... There is a sukiyaki Buffet there which I am more interested in… I will be going there once I have my salary out!!!

3. Flower Cupcakes

My “baker” friend came to find me when I was at Pavilion… she has cupcakes for me but I was out and wasn’t able to meet her… It was a few cupcakes decorated with edible – flower on the top. It is good and too bad I wasn’t able to take it immediately… The flower dry up a bit when I receive it.. therefore the pictures was not really what I was looking for. Even though it is dry, I still like the colors the have.

At last... My trip...to Japan.

Summer is here again... and there are lots of things to do... Cinemas are full with wonderful movies and clients are on holidays. This year was a wonderful year. Thou there are a lots of ups and downs along the way, I manage to fulfill one of my “things to do in life” activity. I have managed to travel to Japan, my long-&-awaited-country after waiting for 3 years. There were delays along the way but we manage to stick to the plan. I have to say that I spent the best holidays of my life in Japan. I wasn’t disappointed with the trip. As the matter of fact, I would really love to go back to Japan soon.

“On 11th March 2011, the northern Tohoku region of Japan was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 9.0. A state of emergency has been declared for the region. There is still leakage from the nuclear power plant in Fukushima however, outside of Fukushima Prefecture things are mostly back to normal and radiation is not a great concern. The scheduled power outages implemented after the quake have all been done away with, though train schedules continue to be reduced, even in Tokyo. Transportation in the Tohoku region is mostly back to normal with the exception of some portions on the eastern coast.” – From wikitravel.

The earthquake happens not long after we bought our tickets and there were a lot of worries and doubt among our friends and family. My mom was worried about me but gave up in persuading me not to go. Hahahaha... She knows how stubborn I am when I set to do things I want. People asked me whether I am afraid of the radiation that time and aren’t I afraid of it. I know there is radiation but I am still determine to go. I have waited for 3 years for this trip and I am not willing to let it go without trying other options. My friend and I decide to change the plans and move toward South of Japan if it is still not safe by the time of our travel.

Anyway, I am really glad we decide to stick and go. It was alread
y better when we are there. It is like nothing has happen there, except of the saving electric part. All the shops are open for business as usual. Japan is place that I really want to go for a holiday. It is a very interesting place where traditions and culture There are a lot of interesting place and they have beautiful temples in Kyoto and also Tokyo.

Kyoto is one of the seven largest cities in Japan. Now the ancient city of Kyoto has become a destination not to be missed when visiting Japan. It is surrounded by traditional culture, expressed through the tradit
ional rituals, the ancient architecture and numerous temples, shrines. Ancient capital of Kyoto preserved traces of the Heian dynasty with temples, palaces in a very peaceful space.

On the other hand, Tokyo is a bit different. It is one of the most vibrant cities in the world. A modern city fill with skyscrapers, neon, electronics stores, large shopping complexes, countless bars and clubs. A city with newness that seems to make all ideas quickly obsolete. There are also Shrine and other tourist places, like the Famous Ghibli Museum (Hayao Miyazaki's charming museum).

I have such a great experience and it was an eye opening place to visit.
I have been there for about 2 weeks and visited Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo. However, 2 weeks is never enough when you are visiting Japan. There is so much to see and so many places to visit. I didn’t manage to visit the entire place plus I did miss out on eating some stuff. Nevertheless, I/we still get to visit most of it and Japan will not sink within 10 years. I still have time to visit. Another downside of traveling in Japan is the cost. Although we manage to keep the cost as low as possible, it not a trip that you can afford to go once a year. To me, the lodging is quite expensive in Japan compare to Australia.

I shall end this post here and will post up more details the next time I blog. Sorry but it will have to wait. I need to get my beauty sleep.. hahahaha. Night.
